Julie Furt

Chair

Julie lives in Cape Elizabeth with her husband and three middle school aged children. As her day job, she works in the software industry where she leads large international teams working to modernize how data is used within organizations. Julie is passionate about initiatives that improve community health. She's enjoyed learning to play Pond Hockey at the Cape Rink last season, but seeing the broad impact the project has had on all ages has been the largest reward.

Chris Hooper

Treasurer & Tax

Chris is a founding member of CCAG and currently serves as a Board Member and as Treasurer. Chris has a broad base of corporate experience having held senior leadership roles across many business sectors. Chris lives in Cape Elizabeth with his wife and 4 children, who are all active hockey players.

Meghan Connelly

Legal, Contracts, Recordkeeping & Purchasing

Meghan lives in Cape Elizabeth with her husband Andrew and two kids, Liam and Mackenzie. She was a prosecutor for twelve years, both state and federal, and recently started a law firm with her husband, Davis Law, LLC. While always enjoying sports, it was her son who introduced her into the amazing world of hockey. She spent much of the winter at the Cape Rink watching residence of all ages enjoy the ice. The rink served as a hub for the community during the winter, and she looks forward to creating more memories for the community.

Whitney Liston

Fundraising & Events

Whitney and Scott live in Cape with their 3 kids, Graeme, Maddie, and Liam. Whitney grew up figure skating competitively and has a deep love for hockey as well. She really enjoyed being involved in rink event planning and fundraising last year and is looking forward to serving on the Board this year. Whitney is a pharmacist at New England Cancer Specialists.

Anastasia O'Hagan

IT & Marketing Communications

Anastasia also lives in Cape with her husband and kids. She enjoys all winter sports, especially ice hockey. Anastasia has extensive experience in Software Development and Marketing. She enjoys volunteering her skills to make a meaningful difference in the community.

Crosley Jackson

Revenue

Crosley lives in Cape Elizabeth with his wife Emily and 3 kids Miles, Max, and Sydney. His background is in finance and software sales and enjoys working with project stakeholders. As his kids progress through various skating and hockey abilities, Crosley sees the Cape Rink as a invaluable asset for the area that all can enjoy for years to come. He's worked with a variety of community based volunteer organizations in the past and looks forward to helping the rink succeed however he can.

Maura Bisogni

Rink Operations

Maura lives in Cape Elizabeth with her husband Jared and her children Eliza and Everett. She has been involved in education and youth sports for more than 20 years and is currently an elementary school librarian. While Maura did not grow up playing ice hockey in Virginia (most recently she has coached field hockey at CEHS) her passions for the positive impact of youth sports and the need to provide safe spaces for young people intersect perfectly at the Cape Rink.

Mike Backman

Rink Management

Mike lives in Cape Elizabeth with his wife Marcia, and two children Max and Lucy. As the owner of Waterhouse Builders, LLC for the past 15 years, he has an extensive resume in home design and construction. Mike's focus is home and building design, drafting, and consulting. Before the Cape Rink, Mike, along with his mobile lighting system, organized night time pond hockey events in and around Cape Elizabeth. Mike is super energetic, and looks forward to creating more skating and pond hockey opportunities.

Jack Lombard

Ice Management

Jack grew up in Cape Elizabeth, moved back in 2010, and is proud to be able to raise his two teenage boys here. He has worked in the seafood industry for 20+ years, in multiple leadership roles. Jack is a passionate saltwater fisherman, musician, pickleballer, and father. He loves spending time at the rink during the winter months, and seeing the smiles on everyone's faces as they enjoy the CCA.

Scott Liston

Town Liaison

Scott lives with his wife Whitney, also a board member, and their three kids. Graeme, Maddie, and Liam have all spent a lot of time at the rink and enjoy getting outside and using the rink in our long Maine winters. Scott grew up playing hockey and still enjoys playing pond hockey at the rink with old and new friends. He is a Certified Financial Planner and has worked in finance for the past 20 years.

Chris Carey

Grant Writing

Chris and his wife Mary Anne have lived in Cape Elizabeth for 25 years. Chris is a retired anesthesiologist who practiced at Maine Med, ran the residency training program, engaged in legislative advocacy at the state and federal level, and was president of the medical staff. He is excited to identify and submit grant applications to help support CCAG. He is a Zamboni driver and a lapsed hockey player who recently restarted playing in the 60+ year old group.

Monica Malcomson

Skating Programs

Monica moved to Cape Elizabeth with her mom, Karen, about 6 years ago. She is currently a second grade classroom teacher in the South Portland School District and formerly taught 1st grade and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) in the same district. She has been an educator for a combined 10 years in CT, Maine, as well as Colombia, South America where she served in the Peace Corps. Monica brings a wealth of experience to Cape Arena as a former competitive and professional figure skater with over 15 years experience in the sport and over 10 years experience coaching. She believes deeply in the development of equitable and inclusive opportunities in Cape Elizabeth and also serves as chair of the town's DEI committee. Monica is committed to supporting Cape Elizabeth in the development and longevity of a magical ice skating experience that will serve as a welcoming and joyful space for the community.

Pat Butsch

Hockey Programs

Pat is Vermont-born triplet and ever-hopeful Buffalo Sabres fan, who started playing hockey at age 4. He and his 4 siblings were immersed in hockey throughout their young lives, and learned much about sportsmanship, commitment, perseverance, and leadership through the sport, while also having a ton of fun! He was a member of the Wesleyan University ice hockey team before temporarily retiring during a decade of medical training. In 2021, after working as an Internal Medicine physician for six years on the Navajo Nation in New Mexico, he moved to Cape Elizabeth with his wife and two kids, Annie and Sammy. Since arriving back in a place that has ice, he found his stride again, and has absolutely loved watching his kids learn to play hockey and spending quality family and volunteer time at the Cape Community Arena. He is excited to continue to nurture his passion for community spirit and ice hockey, joining the board heading up ice hockey programs.

Sam Sezak

Board Advisor

Sam is a founding member of CCAG and currently serves as a Board Member. Sam is a partner at North Haven Capital, a private equity firm focused on New England based companies and has spent majority of his career investing in and working with early stage companies. Sam lives in Cape Elizabeth with his wife and 3 children. He loves to coach his three kids in hockey and any other sport they play as well as travel and explore the outdoors.

Jay Brandeis

Board Advisor

Jay is a founding member of CCAG and currently serves as a Board Advisor. He is an experienced leader, founder, and business developer in the blue / green economy. Jay lives in Cape Elizabeth with his wife, son, and their dog, and feels blessed to reside in a town with such unique access to the natural world, both land an sea!
