Volunteer at the rink
Every hour the rink is open to the public, one volunteer rink supervisor keeps an eye on things. Pick an open hour below and it’s yours. (Private rentals bring their own supervisor, so they are not listed.)
Rink supervisor training
The supervisor is the adult in charge during a session: opening and closing, watching for unsafe ice or conduct, helping with the loaner skates, and knowing what to do if someone gets hurt. Training materials are posted here and in the binder at the rink.
- Read first: the supervisor checklist and the rink rules (materials will be posted here before opening day; the binder at the rink has the current version).
- Emergencies: call 911 first, do not move an injured skater, and follow the emergency protocol in the binder.
- Questions: info@capearena.org, or ask any board member at the rink.
Already trained? Say so on the sign-up form and an admin will add you to the trained roster, after which training-required shifts confirm instantly.
Rink supervisor is one of four volunteer jobs. Snow and ice crew, Zamboni and ice care, and site fixes are not shift-based, so those sign up through Get Involved.
